The house
Named for a dog who refused a plastic crate.
Zoey slept in the hallway until we found a steel crate that looked like furniture and a bed that did not flatten in a month. The store is that search, written as a catalog: hardgoods first, consumables as a footnote, prices that follow the market you buy from.

How we buy
National pet distributors run on pallets and case packs. That is the right model for kibble. It is the wrong model for a crate that will sit in a living room. We work with U.S. specialty houses that will pick a single unit, ship it in a carton, and leave our name off the label.
Where it ships
Inventory sits in Ohio. Orders leave the same day for most SKUs, one to three days for housing. Checkout converts to the ten largest pet-care markets and applies that country's tax — United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, China, India, Brazil.
What we will not list
Novelty costumes. Squeakers that last a weekend. Anything that only works if you hide it in a closet. If it cannot stay in the room, it does not belong in the catalog.
The numbers
Two-thirds of U.S. homes keep an animal. Dogs in 43 percent of households, cats in 33. The aisle is crowded. We stay on the hardgoods that independent shops already know how to sell — beds, containment, outdoor, travel — and we price them without a marketplace race.
